The parts of which they are composed – many of them unique – as well as the scores of design features involve differentiated manufacturing, finishing, assembly, adjustment, and inspection times, so overall production times vary from model to model. For a LANGE 1, for instance, some six months elapse between parts production and the delivery of the watch.
The extraordinarily high degree of craftsmanship involved in the making of a Lange watch clearly limits the capacity of the manufactory. Lange can produce only a few thousand timepieces a year for this reason.
